About us

Smart Wendor sells LED lighting for ordinary rooms — kitchens, hallways, bedrooms, home offices. We stock a small range on purpose, so that everything we sell is something we can explain properly.

If you are unsure what a room needs, tell us the size, the ceiling height and what the space is used for. We will point you at the right output and colour temperature rather than the most expensive fitting.

Checked before it ships

Every fitting is inspected and tested before it leaves us.

Better light, less electricity

LED fittings draw a fraction of the power of the incandescent bulbs they replace, and last considerably longer before they need changing.

What to look for

Four numbers worth knowing

These are the figures on the box that actually tell you how a lamp will behave.

LumensBrightness. Higher means more light, regardless of wattage.
KelvinColour temperature. Lower is warmer, higher is cooler and bluer.
WattsPower drawn. On LED this is small, and not a measure of brightness.
CRIColour rendering. Higher makes colours in the room look truer.
Questions

Before you order

Which colour temperature should I choose?

Warmer tones around 2700K suit living rooms and bedrooms, where you want the light to feel soft. Cooler tones nearer 4000K suit kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces where you want to see detail clearly.

How many lumens does a room need?

It depends on the room size, the ceiling height and how the space is used, so there is no single answer. Send us the dimensions and what the room is for, and we will suggest a range.

Are these fittings dimmable?

Some are and some are not, and a dimmable lamp also needs a compatible dimmer switch. Ask us about a specific item before ordering if dimming matters to you.

Will an LED bulb fit my existing lamp?

Usually, provided the cap matches — E27 and E14 screw fittings and B22 bayonet are the common ones. Check the size of the shade too, as some LED bulbs are slightly longer than the bulbs they replace.

Do I need an electrician?

Changing a bulb, no. Installing or replacing a ceiling fitting involves mains wiring, and we would always recommend a qualified electrician for that. Rules vary by country, so check what applies where you live.

How do I ask about an item?

Email or call us using the details below with the product name and the room it is for. We will reply with specifications, current availability and delivery options.

Testimonials

What our customers say

A few notes from people who asked us for help choosing.

I ordered two pendants for the kitchen and asked which colour temperature to go for. The advice was straightforward, and the light over the island is exactly right now.
