What it is for
A woven shade does something a solid one cannot: it lets a portion of the light through the weave, which puts a soft pattern on the ceiling and the nearby wall instead of a hard pool underneath.
That makes it a better choice for a room you sit in than for a work surface. In a kitchen you generally want the light contained and aimed; in a living room or a bedroom, spread and texture are usually what you are after.
It is rattan, so each piece varies a little in tone. Pair it with a warm 2700K bulb — a cooler bulb behind natural fibre tends to look grey.

Which colour temperature should I choose?
Warmer tones around 2700K suit living rooms and bedrooms, where you want the light to feel soft. Cooler tones nearer 4000K suit kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces where you want to see detail clearly.
